Meet Kevin Cameron, Founder of Smooth Training
From my earliest years, fitness has been woven into the fabric of my life. As a lifelong athlete, sports and physical activity weren't just hobbies – they were fundamental teachers that shaped who I am today. Through countless hours of training and competition, I discovered the transformative power of consistency, developed an unshakeable work ethic, and learned to push myself beyond self-imposed limitations.
But my journey revealed an important truth: staying fit isn't just about being an athlete. When my youthful years of playing sports ended, I faced the same challenge many of my clients encounter – how to maintain a sustainable, fulfilling fitness lifestyle. This personal experience became the foundation of my approach to training and inspired me to create Smooth Training.
Where I ended up..
My journey into fitness training wasn't a straight path – it was shaped by real struggles and transformative experiences. Standing at 6'1" and weighing just 160 pounds in my late teens, I knew I needed to make a change. This sparked an intensive period of self-education about fitness and nutrition that would eventually become my life's passion.
2013 marked a turning point. Working with several coaches, I immersed myself in learning proper training and nutrition fundamentals. Over the next few years, I successfully transformed my body, reaching 200 pounds at 14% body fat. But this success story wasn't the end of my journey – it was just the beginning of a deeper lesson.
Like many people, I discovered that achieving fitness goals and maintaining them are two very different challenges. Despite my success, I fell into patterns that many of my clients now struggle with: poor nutritional choices, an increasing appetite for processed foods and sweets, and a declining commitment to consistent training. The result? My body fat percentage climbed to 24%, and my weight increased to 215 pounds.
This setback became my greatest teacher. It pushed me to dive deeper into understanding not just the science of fitness, but the psychological aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. More importantly, it ignited my passion for helping others avoid these common pitfalls and build sustainable fitness habits that last a lifetime.
Where I am now
From Personal Success to Professional Excellence
Transforming my own fitness journey into a system that works for others became my next great challenge. I quickly discovered that success in personal training isn't about creating carbon copies of my own routine – it's about understanding each client's unique lifestyle, challenges, and goals.
Through extensive study and hands-on experience, I developed customized fitness systems that adapt to my clients' lives rather than forcing them to completely restructure their daily routines. This flexible, realistic approach has led to remarkable client transformations and validated my commitment to continuous education in the field.
While my childhood dreams of professional athletic stardom took a different turn, I've found my true calling in helping others achieve their fitness goals. As a professional trainer, I combine my personal experience, technical knowledge, and understanding of human behavior to guide clients toward sustainable, life-changing results.
